Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Panel 1: Theorizing Neutrality. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

Content: Round Table Discussion

This first panel will explore theoretical underpinnings of the neutral position in International Relations and why some actors chose (or are forced to adopt) the policy instead of joining military alliances or political defence arrangements. We are especially honoured to receive inaugural comments by Malta’s Foreign Minister (1981-1987), Alexander Sceberras Trigona, who was a driving force behind Malta codifying neutrality in its constitution.

Participants

Alexander Trigona: Defining Neutrality Constitutionally.

Heinz Gaertner: Engaged Neutrality - Credible and Useful.

Hillary Briffa: Small State Neutrality.

Pascal Lottaz: The Logic of Neutrality.
